Outside, Inside: A Reflection on Presence and Perception

I believe every human being is a portal—an entryway between worlds. At first glance, we encounter the external frame, but when we step through, an entire universe unfolds. Our inner world shapes our outer reality, just as the external world, in turn, leaves its imprint on our inner landscape.

A lingering sense of aloneness etches itself into our expressions, while a habit of noticing beauty and goodness softens our features, illuminating our presence. Perhaps the most powerful anti-aging secret is a genuine smile—one born from childlike trust in life, the quiet knowing that everything is unfolding as it should, and the certainty that our journey is limitless.

Within each of us, there is an ever-present, knowing essence—an angelic presence—watching, guiding, and smiling as we navigate the mystical paths of existence.

This painting emerged not as a singular choice but as an unfolding, a process of endless possibilities. I realized it was not about capturing a fixed destination but rather a state of being—a dance between the seen and unseen, the outer and inner, the known and the yet-to-be-discovered.

What shapes your perception of the world? How do you see the balance between inner and outer realities in your own life? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I am so happy this painting was accepted into National Association of Women Artists show. Details soon.
