Holding the Intangible: A Visual Exploration of Legacy and Shared Knowledge

How do we visualize what we carry inside, and how it passes from one generation to the next?

This question is central to my current artistic work. I’ve been creating a series of mixed-media pieces that explore internal worlds—specifically, the archives of knowledge, intuition, and inherited stories that form a quiet, powerful legacy.

My symbolic work, “The Archive/2,” tries to give form to this intimate transfer. It depicts one woman who might be pregnant or might be cradling a radiant core of wisdom, while another’s hand rests on her shoulder in a gesture of support. They are surrounded by dynamic shapes representing the swirling “frontiers” of narratives that shape how we understand and use what we’ve been given.

For me, it’s a visual meditation on the profound, often unspoken inheritance that guides us, and the complex, beautiful responsibility of stewarding it forward.

These themes of inner knowledge, mentorship, and cultural storytelling resonate far beyond the canvas, in leadership, personal development, and how we build organizational and community culture. I’m keen to connect with others who think about these intersections:

· Artists and writers working with symbolism and narrative.
· Coaches, mentors, and leaders focused on legacy, knowledge transfer, and empowerment.
· Thinkers and culture-builders in spaces of storytelling, archetypes, and collective wisdom.

If this exploration speaks to you, or if you see parallels in your own work, I’d welcome your perspective. The most illuminating ideas often emerge at the crossroads of different fields.
