In a world where everything can be recorded, where a single moment of anger or passion can be frozen in time and resurface years later, it’s worth asking—are we truly standing for what we believe, or are we reacting from a place we might later outgrow?
It isn’t about being afraid of expressing opinions. It’s not about striving to be saints or suppressing anger as an emotion. It’s about awareness and clarity of what we stand for. It’s also about recognizing that we change and that our perception isn’t always as accurate as we believe in the moment due to our emotional buttons.
If the idea of your activism, outrage, or even your words being replayed makes you uncomfortable—pause. Reevaluate. Does this stance truly align with your values? Or were you caught in a moment when emotions clouded your judgment?
We declare “love your neighbor,” yet when anger takes over; this value can fade. We say we cherish our family, yet in frustration, we lash out with words. Maybe instead of polishing our public image, we should focus on becoming buttonless—less reactive and more grounded in what we genuinely stand for.
What do you think? How do you balance expressing emotions without forgetting your core values??
